John Psilloudis, Librarian

John Psilloudis (1971) holds a BA in Librarianship from the Alexander Educational Technological Institute of Thessaloniki (1994), a Postgraduate Certificate in "Distance Learning" from the Hellenic Open University (2003) and a MA on "Studies in Education" from the same University (2008). He speaks English (State Certificate of Foreign Language Proficiency, Level: Independent User - B2), uses computers fluently (ECDL Core Certificate) and is expert user of library cataloguing software «ABEKT» and «Geac Advance».

He worked as a librarian at the Library of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, School of Philosophy, Department of Medieval and Modern Greek Studies, under the supervision of Professor Panagiotis Moulas (04.01.1994 to 30.10.1994). Then he worked as a librarian at the High School of Rizia (Evros, Greece) under the European pilot plan of the Operational Programme for Education and Initial Vocational Training "Libraries - Establishment and operation of the first 49 School Libraries in Greece" under the supervision of the Ministry of Education (implementing agency: National Youth Institute, 10.6.1996 to 30.6.2001). He also worked as librarian at the Democritus University of Thrace under the European pilot plan of the Operational Programme for Education and Initial Vocational Training "Prometheus II" on "administrative and technical support as well as cataloguing and expansion of the central catalogue of the Library of the Department of Rural Development" in Orestiada (Evros, Greece). Since March 2005 he has been working as a librarian at the Library and the Information Center of the University of the Peloponnese, Kalamata Division. He has participated as a librarian in numerous seminars, workshops and conferences.
